We were born in our founder Imani Ellis’ one-bedroom apartment & have since parlayed into the fastest growing creative community in NYC.

"My greatest struggle right now is feeling whiplash from White people and allies finally paying attention to the plight of Black people. Messages we’ve been repeating for years are finally at the forefront. I struggle with the erasure and disregard of the Black queer community when we say that ALL Black Lives Matter. Black Lives Matter doesn’t exist without the work of the Black queer community. We consistently put our bodies on the line for the Black community while suffering violence, often, at the hands of our own community.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ As a Black queer creative who centers our voices in my work, my hope is that the black community can come together at it’s intersections to truly uplift our selves. The solutions we seek come when we bridge the gap between our perspectives. We are missing out when we keep a narrow focus.
